It is the proud honor of Peshawar Stamp Society that it organized the first ever National Philatelic Exhibition at Peshawar in January 1990. Keeping in view the meager resources available to the society, it was great achievement. 

Eminent philatelist from all over the country exhibited their valuable collections in the four day show. Teenaged enthusiastic collectors from approximately 20 schools took part in the junior section of the exhibition. 

This exhibition infused a new life in an otherwise dormant and little known field of interest. Consequently there was a tremendous inflow of fresh blood into the society and a number of them now enjoys a prominent place in the Pakistan philately, notably Mr. Tahir Bashir who now is the current President of the society. 

Pakistan Post Office opened a special philatelic counter in the exhibition hall . A special postmark was also issued to mark the occasion.
